Busy Beavers

Join a park interpreter and a park ranger in the Tsongas Gallery at park head quarters, for an audiovisual introduction to beavers; how they swim, build dams and lodges, creating wetlands and environments for other species.

Learn about our relationship with the beaver in North America, from the fur trade to present day issues.

After the presentation join a guided walk to see signs that beavers have been at Walden (1 mile round trip). Please dress for the weather.

This is a free program, but there is a $8 parking fee for vehicles with Massachusetts plates, $10 parking fee for vehicles with out of state plates. No dogs are permitted unless they are working guides. Park programs are sponsored by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.
