Henry & Walden's Former Inhabitants

Join a park interpreter at the Thoreau house replica, near the main parking lot, for a walk to the house sites of former slaves Zilpa White and Cato Ingraham and the site of Thoreau’s bean field. Learn about some of the lesser known residents of Walden Woods, and Thoreau’s recounting of their stories. Please wear sturdy shoes and dress for the weather.

All programs are FREE and open to the public. An adult must accompany children 12 and under. The daily parking fee is $8.00 per vehicle with Massachusetts plates, $10 per vehicle with non-Massachusetts plates. 

On hot summer days, holidays, and weekends, Walden Pond often closes for capacity.
