Exploring Pond Life Like Thoreau

Now is your chance to explore Heywood Meadow like Thoreau!

Meet us down by the Main Beach bike racks and come hear about one of our property’s wetlands. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and be prepared to get a little wet.

This program is for all ages, however, we will take a 40-minute hike round-trip to the Meadow and back.

Insect repellant on clothes—not hands, water, and hiking shoes are recommended.

All programs are FREE and open to the public. An adult must accompany children 12 and under. The daily parking fee is $8.00 per vehicle with Massachusetts plates, $10 per vehicle with non-Massachusetts plates. 

On hot summer days, holidays, and weekends, Walden Pond often closes for capacity.
