Walden Pond State Reservation: Henry's Watermelon Party!

Saturday, August 27, 2016 - 12:00pm to 2:00pm
Walden Pond State Reservation, 915 Walden Street
Watermelon Party

Henry Thoreau was known to have grown the sweetest, juiciest watermelons in Concord. Every year, he shared his harvest with friends and family.

As we continue this yearly tradition, enjoy a slice of melon with Henry Thoreau (portrayed by Thoreau Society's in house historian, Richard Smith) and converse with the so-called "Hermit of Walden Pond" about his daily life in 1847.

Meet Mr. Thoreau at the Thoreau House replica, located next to the parking lot.

This program is FREE and is for visitors of all ages. There is a daily parking fee at Walden Pond State Reservation.
