Honoring Henry David Thoreau Through Contemplation & Journaling at Thoreau Farm.

In the tranquility of his birthplace, Nanri Tenney and Thoreau Farm will offer a course to explore the soul of the sage and naturalist, Henry David Thoreau. We will read his works with a fresh perspective using the practices of meditation and journaling to gain our own insights.

This eight-week workshop will have special emphasis on Thoreau's books, Walden and The Journal 1837-1861. Prior experience of meditation or journal writing is not necessary. We will have paper and writing tools, or bring your journal.

2017 marks the bicentennial year of Henry David Thoreau's birth. Thoreau was born at Thoreau Farm on July 12, 1817. He is the only member of the famous 19th century Transcendental circle of writers who was born in Concord.
