Henry Thoreau was known to have grown the sweetest, juiciest watermelons in Concord. Every year, he shared his harvest with friends and family. As we continue this tradition, enjoy a slice of melon with historian Richard Smith who will portray Thoreau at the House Replica. The replica is located next to the parking lot.This program is for visitors of all ages.

All programs are FREE and open to the public. An adult must accompany children 12 and under. The daily parking fee is $8.00 per vehicle with Massachusetts plates, $10 per vehicle with non-Massachusetts plates. 

On hot summer days, holidays, and weekends, Walden Pond often closes for capacity.
