Sponsored by the Association to Preserve Cape Cod, “Thoreau, The Maine Woods to Cape Cod: A Journey in Photographs,” captures the scenery, as it exists today, of Thoreau’s famous walking trips in the mid-1800s along the shores of Cape Cod and across Maine’s interior.

There will be a free opening reception on Friday, October 5 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Two other Thoreau-themed events will coincide with the exhibit.

Boston University biologist and author Dr. Richard Primack will discuss his book, Walden Warming: Change Comes to Thoreau’s Woods, on Thursday, October 11 at 7 p.m.

On October 18 at 7:00 p.m., staff from the Cape Cod National Seashore and Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument in Maine will discuss the different characteristics and surprising similarities of the two areas that factored prominently in Thoreau’s travels.
